Daily Worship, Spirit and Word Sep. 18, 2024

Part One - God’s words in our mouths

THE WORD OF GOD IS ALIVE AND POWERFUL!!!

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12, NKJV)

The Word of God is the bread of life. We live by God’s Words.

But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’” (Luke 4:4, NKJV)

The Word of God is the sword of The Spirit.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;” (Ephesians 6:17, NKJV)

Whether we read this as “The HOLY SPIRIT” or “our own spiritual being”, The Word of God is the sword, the weapon, that is used in fighting our battles. We are to keep God’s words in our mouths. God’s word in our mouth is the sword of the spirit. It is alive and powerful. Every word of God is alive and powerful. Jesus said, “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Why would we ever think that God’s words are not for us to use? He gave them to us to use. If He had not given them to us, then they would not be life to us. We are fighting without a sword if we are not keeping His words in our mouth. We are actually fighting naked in the flesh if we are not using God’s word to resist the devil or to overcome adversity. Our faith is based upon God’s word. Therefore, if we are not using God’s Word, we are not in faith. “The Word of God is in our heart and in our mouth. This is the word of faith which we preach.”
