The Word of God is Alive and Powerful
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1, NKJV)
“Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.” Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:1–13, NKJV)
Who believes the Law of Moses is still in place?
Who believes the Law of God is still in place?
What is the difference between The Law of God and The Law of Moses?
“Everyone say, God is in Charge,”but He doesn’t control and manipulate the actions of every person.
What does it mean for God to be in charge?
It means God made the rules that govern His own created universe. The “I AM” made it all. And He made the rules that govern it.
What are some of God’s Laws that govern His created realm?
Gravity
Seedtime and Harvest
Seasons
Cycles
Order
The Word of God
Faith
The Word of God is eternal.
The Word of God is alive and powerful.
The Word of God cuts to the heart of the matter.
The Word of God governs the world.
The Word of God gives life.
The Word of God gives promise.
The Word of God gives faith.
The Word of God gives hope.
The Word of God reveals His love for us.
The Word of God tells us how to speak and live.
The Word of God tells us how to succeed.
The Word of God tells us how to overcome and be victorious.
The Word of God is unprofitable to us if it is not mixed with faith. Without faith, we will not enter into the rest of God. Today if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. Without faith, you will not cease from the works of the flesh that produce death. Without faith in God’s word, you will not overcome the world or experience the victory of God’s inheritance and promises while you live on earth. The Word of God is a person. The Word of God is the Logos Of God and it is The Rhema of God. The Word of God is revealed to us by God’s Spirit.
“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to declare My statutes, Or take My covenant in your mouth, Seeing you hate instruction And cast My words behind you? When you saw a thief, you consented with him, And have been a partaker with adulterers. You give your mouth to evil, And your tongue frames deceit. You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son. These things you have done, and I kept silent; You thought that I was altogether like you; But I will rebuke you, And set them in order before your eyes. “Now consider this, you who forget God, Lest I tear you in pieces, And there be none to deliver: Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; And to him who orders his conduct (conversation) aright I will show the salvation of God.”” (Psalm 50:15–23, NKJV)
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:3–6, NKJV)
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.” (Galatians 5:16–26, NKJV)
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Galatians 6:7–9, NKJV)
The key to having the Word of God change your life is having it written on your heart. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”” (Joshua 1:8–9, NKJV)
This is how you write His word on your heart: Speak it all the time. Think about it all the time. Speak it so much that it changes the way you. Speak it so much that you observe it and do it. When you speak it and observe it and do it, you will make your own way prosperous and you have good success. Is this a “prosperity gospel”? The Word of God declares that you will make your own way prosperous if you speak, thinks, observe and do God’s Word. The Word of God also declares that, “In this world, you shall have tribulation.”
“Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 5:5–11, NKJV) But it also says that we get to overcome the world through faith in Jesus and His Word.
