How important are the words of your mouth? How important are the Words of God? How important are the words of a king? How important are the words of a priest? Your words are only powerless if you are powerless. Even the least influential person influences someone with their words. At the very least, your words influence you. On the other hand, Scripture tells us that our words have the power of life and death.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:16–17, NKJV)
Let the Word of Christ dwell/abide in you. Does that sound familiar? Jesus said, “If you abide in Me and My words abide in you…” Let the Anointed Word dwell in you richly in all wisdom. How does the anointed word dwell in us? We keep it in our heart an in our mouth. We meditate on them day and night so that we observe and do them.
Whatever you do or say, do it and say it in the name of the LORD Jesus Christ while giving thanks to God the Father through Christ Jesus. Can I write that again?
All of our words and deeds are to be said and done in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ while giving thanks to The Father. Does this leave room for me to use idle words or curse words? Does it leave room for complaining and worrying with our lips?
When we keep God’s words in our mouth and meditate on them day and night, they will be in our hearts and in our mouths.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14, NKJV)
