Can Christ Jesus share or delegate authority? Of course He Can! But did He?
“These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matthew 10:5–8, NKJV)
Christ Jesus, The I AM, gave his 12 disciples specific authority over the works of the devil in a specific geographic location for the benefit of a specific people who, within a generation, would face the judgement of God over their city and faithless religious practices. Christ Jesus delegated His authority over the kingdom of darkness to His followers. After His resurrection, He gave them His authority over the demons and demonic works throughout the world. Christ Jesus even gave His disciples authority to make disciples everywhere they went and to pass on His authority to their disciples once they had been baptize with and received His Hoy Spirit. But He reserved the authority of knowing times or seasons to The Father in Heaven.
There are many Scriptural witnesses to this truth. It cannot be ignored.
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” (Matthew 28:18–20, NKJV)
“And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”” (Acts 1:7-8, NKJV)
