Power Gifts

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” (1 Corinthians 12:4–11, NKJV)

How is faith a gift of the spirit?

We know faith is already the gift of God. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8–9, NKJV)

Works do not increase faith. Faith increases faith. “Walking faith” grows through praying in the Spirit, through hearing the anointed word of God, and through responding to circumstances with faith instead of fear.

However, the Gift of Faith is given by The Spirit for the profit of all. It is Holy Spirit’s faith. It is the result of the unction coming upon you. The Gift of Faith comes upon you and you are willing to believe and do the impossible, and it will be a “game changer” in the fellowship of believers.

The Gift of Faith is followed by the Gift of Healings and the Gift of Miracles. It is mentioned separately from the Gift of Healings and the Gift of Miracles, but when you think about it, they practically shout to us that they work together.

Ask yourself, “do word of wisdom and word of knowledge work together?” Do you need a Gift of Faith to operate in them? You might, until your “walking faith” increases to include being ready and willing to flow in them. The more we say yes, the greater our “living faith” grows.

When these power gifts are flowing, it is the Spirit who is working them according to His will, (which is also God’s will). It is the will of God that we operate in the gifts of the Spirit. All of the gifts of the Spirit are the working of Holy Spirit. This is why we wait on The LORD in our services.

Why is it important to point this out? Because we may have a tendency to focus on our own participation rather than focusing on the will and working of the Spirit.

Start by believing that it is easy for Holy Spirit to work any and all of these gifts. It is not harder for The Spirit to do miracles than it is for Him to do prophesies. Because there is no difference to the Spirit to do great or small, Holy Spirit just needs someone who is willing. Decide that you are willing.

Walk and live by faith. Stay in tune with Holy Spirit. Say Yes continually. Stay filled with The Spirit. Walk in love. Keep high intimacy levels with Holy Spirit.
