What about God's covenant with Israel? First, there is Jeremiah 18 (the potter and the clay). Second, there is the Jeremiah 31 promise of a new covenant.

If a parent or a friend promised to buy you a used car and later showed up to give you a new car, will you reject the new car because they promised a used one? No. You will be even more grateful for the new car.

God showed up with a new covenant that was better than the first. The first covenant had a curse attached to it. The new covenant has no curse. This is why it is called in Hebrews 8:6, “a better covenant with better promises.”
