Spiritual Warfare is derived from Spiritual Authority.
Spiritual Authority is derived from The Word of GOD.
God’s Words is God’s will, so God’s Word gives us God’s Authority.
If The Word of God commands it, God wants us to do it.
If The Word of God promises it, God wants us to have it.
As The Sovereign King, The LORD is in charge. When we submit to His words, we submit to Him and to His authority. When we keep His words, we walk in His authority and power. When we say what He says from a place of faith and obedience, we are speaking in His authority.
Romans 5 says, Hope makes us not ashamed, for the love of God floods our hearts by the Holy Spirit which God has given to us. We have received The Loving Holy Spirit of God so that we can be motivated by the same love which motivates the character of God. We have receive The Loving Word of God so that we can speak in the same manner that God speaks. We have received the divine nature and every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, so that we can bring the culture of heaven to earth. We are transformed, authorized and empowered by Father, Son and Holy Spirit..
From that mindset, please read, “PRAISE THE Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, praise Him in the assembly of His saints! Let Israel rejoice in Him, their Maker; let Zion’s children triumph and be joyful in their King! Let them praise His name in chorus and choir and with the [single or group] dance; let them sing praises to Him with the tambourine and lyre! For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation and adorn the wretched with victory. Let the saints be joyful in the glory and beauty [which God confers upon them]; let them sing for joy upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their throats and a two-edged sword in their hands, To wreak vengeance upon the nations and chastisement upon the peoples, To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron, To execute upon them the judgment written. He [the Lord] is the honor of all His saints. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)” (Psalm 149, AMP)
As we read the last half of the chapter, we see something that translates to spiritual warfare in The New Covenant. (Compare to Ephesians 6). Just remember, this chapter starts with praise that acknowledges both the identity of God and our God-given identity in Christ. We come into His Presence with joy, with praise, with singing and with dancing. We are clothed with the glory and beauty of Christ. Then we use our authority and power, the sword of the spirit which is the word of God, over principalities and powers and rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places. We bind these spiritual forces and execute God’s judgement against them.
Then we PRAISE GOD all the more!
