What are your angels commissioned to do?
Angels are commissioned to minister on behalf of those who are inheriting salvation.
“But to which of the angels has He ever said: “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”? Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:13–14, NKJV)
Look at verse 14 translated directly from the Greek in Young's Literal Translation: “are they not all spirits of service—for ministration being sent forth because of those about to inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14, YLT)
The Passion Translation says it best: “What role then, do the angels have? The angels are spirit-messengers sent by God to serve those who are going to be saved.” (Hebrews 1:14, TPT)
What does minister mean? We see it means to serve. Angels are on earth to serve believers in the purposes of God.
Your angels serve you in the purposes of God according to His Words and Promises.
What are your angels allowed to do?
God has given them purpose, but we allow them to complete that purpose when our faith, words and actions are aligned with God.
What do you allow them to do? You allow them to do what you believe and speak. Your words either activate or restrain them.
“Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your excuse and destroy the work of your hands? For in the multitude of dreams and many words there is also vanity. But fear God.” (Ecclesiastes 5:6–7, NKJV)
This passage talks about someone who has made a vow to God and then declares that the vow was a mistake. This passage says that the messenger (same word as angel) of God would hear this and destroy the work that has already been done. It goes on to say that talking to much about very many dreams is vanity. We are to honor our vows to God and keep our words purposeful and full of faith.
When we keep our words faithful and purposeful, our angels are allowed to work on our behalf.
When we do not keep a watch over the door of our lips, we potentially restrain our angels and even cause the work of our own hands to fail.
This is why The Word says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21, NKJV)
If you love life, you will eat the fruit of life by speaking the words of life.
Now, for one minute, go back up to The Young’s Literal Translation: “are they not all spirits of service—for ministration being sent forth because of those about to inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14, YLT)
It says, “about to inherit salvation”, or it could be read “in the process of inheriting salvation.”
We share in Christ’s inheritance. This inheritance includes heaven but it is not limited to heaven, unless you want to say, “heaven on earth”. “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
So angels are administering the inheritance on our behalf as we allow them to with our faithful words, actions and alignment with the purposes of God.
As we “walk by faith”, because the righteous live by faith, our words and actions come into alignment with God and His words and His actions. We are the earth (or earthen vessels) where His kingdom comes and His will is done. We start taking on the character and mannerisms of our spiritual Heavenly Father. None of us look alike, and yet we all start looking like Him in the spirit realm as we grow in our faith in Him.
Jesus was fully and completely and exactly like His Father and walked in total faith, saying, “No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”” (John 10:18, NKJV)
The Word of God to us
gives us power to do The Word of God
when we receive it by faith
and “hold fast to our confession of faith.”
Angels will do what we say
when they hear us saying
in faith
what Our Father in Heaven says.
This is what they are commissioned and allowed to do.
