Seeking Jesus First Oct. 17, 2024
In Book of Nehemiah, we find a man who has been called by God to restore a city. God ordains the man and the people to do this great work. Then God promotes the man and puts him in front of the king. The kings asks Nehemiah what he wants to accomplish and then authorizes and funds the restoration project.
When Nehemiah started making progress, a group came out to oppose them. This group threatened them physically, but the people just kept their weapons next to them while they were rebuilding the city. Then the group started a rumor and letter writing campaign accusing Nehemiah of insurrection against the king who funded the project, and Nehemiah wrote letters back but they did not stop building. Then the group tried to lure him into a trap, but he would not be distracted. Then the group sent “prophets” to try to get Nehemiah to do something unlawful to protect himself, but he would not break the law.
Nehemiah realized that this antagonistic group was trying to stop him by lies, by discrediting him, and by physical violence. Nehemiah would not be stopped from the vision that God had given him, and Nehemiah and the people completed the restoration project in 52 days.
So, as you can see, these leftist, socialist, fascist, communist, uniparty tactics are not new. The answer is to stay ready to fight back and resist spiritual and physical threats while you stay focused on the work and do not let them distract you from your purpose. Stay pure in your walk and don’t go places where traps can be found. Don’t open yourself up to “little foxes”. “The devil goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may destroy.” The greater your diligent focus on the vision and task that God has given you, the quicker you will complete it.
