Psalm 127

Laboring and Prospering with the Lord

Unless the Lord builds the house,

They labor in vain who build it;

Unless the Lord guards the city,

The watchman stays awake in vain.

It is vain for you to rise up early,

To sit up late,

To eat the bread of sorrows;

For so He gives His beloved sleep.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,

The fruit of the womb is a reward.

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,

So are the children of one’s youth.

Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;

They shall not be ashamed,

But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

My wife and I partnered with The LORD Jesus to build our house. We had five amazing children and most of them are grown up now. We are so very proud of each of them. They don’t live their lives according to my will, but I did not train them up to be dependent upon me. I have encouraged them all to allow our Heavenly Father to help them build their house. I still pray for them to hear His voice and follow Him as their Good Shepherd. And every day I thank God for them and for the joy they have given to me until now. I love them no matter what, just as my Heavenly Father loves me.
