Seeking Jesus First Aug. 27, 2025

He who seeks will find.

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Luke 11:9–10, NKJV)

And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” (Matthew 13:10–12, NKJV)

The one who hears and receives God’s word will be delivered. Hearing God is directly related to seeking God. When someone has given his attention to God, set his faith upon Him, the Word of God comes alive to him. God has set out His call upon all who hear. We lay aside our distractions and focus on His voice, and we begin to hear and understand. Others will hear a parable, a sign, a wonder, and just wonder. But the one who is seeking God will look deeper and ask God what it means. He will seek God for understanding and He will find it. The more he seeks, the more he finds. If he takes his eyes away from seeking God, and begins focusing on other things, he will begin to lose what he received.

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29, NKJV)

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.” (Mark 12:30, NKJV)

Anyone who wants to know God will start hearing God when they start seeking God with all of their heart.

Anyone who wants “more” with God will receive “more” with God when they continue seeking God with all of their heart while being faithful over what God has already said to them.
