Seeking Jesus First Dec. 1, 2025

Through faith in Christ Jesus, we have become His house (family) and God’s children. Part One

Jesus is The Only Begotten Son of God. “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.” (Psalm 2:7–8, NKJV)

Jesus is the recipient of the Promise and Inheritance of Abraham. “Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.” (Galatians 3:16, NKJV)

The household of faith is the house of The LORD Jesus. “For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.” (Hebrews 3:4–6, NKJV)

The LORD is building His house: “Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it…” (Psalm 127:1, NKJV) Upon the rock of Christ Jesus and the truth that Jesus is The Son of The Living God, Jesus is building His church, (‘ekklesia’), His “called out ones” to be His representative house, His family and His offspring.

Regarding faith in The LORD Jesus Christ: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12–13, NKJV) Those who believe in God and in His Son whom He sent are “born again” as his offspring according to the will of God.

We are the House of God: “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” (1 Peter 2:4–10, NKJV)
