Through faith in Christ Jesus, we have become His house and God’s children. Part Two

The kingdom of God is given to those who will produce its fruit and give to Christ Jesus His share of the harvest.

Jesus told a parable in Matthew 21:33–46 about a landowner who rented his Vinyard to people who would tend it and render the proper fruit to the landowner. The landowner moved to another town and they decided not to pay the agreed upon rent. They beat up his representatives and even murdered his son. Jesus was speaking about the pharisees and leaders of Jerusalem. Then Jesus pronounced this judgement upon them. “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

The LORD had been willing to start over with Moses in the wilderness but the Scripture tells us that Moses interceded for Israel. “Furthermore the Lord spoke to me, saying, ‘I have seen this people, and indeed they are a stiff-necked people. Let Me alone, that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.’” (Deuteronomy 9:13–14, NKJV)

The LORD did start over with Christ Jesus. “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’” (Matthew 23:37–39, NKJV)

Isaiah 11 prophesies that Jesus, (“the Root of Jesse”), would come and receive the kingdom and that the gentiles would put their hope in Him. Then the promise is made that God will gather together the scattered and lost children of the tribes of Israel and that amazing peace would come to the earth. God gave His seed to Abraham and blessed Israel because of that seed. The “mystery” seed was revealed as Jesus Christ and He is the hope of all mankind.

The kingdom of God was given to Christ Jesus and to His House: “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18–20, NKJV) Jesus retains the throne of David and is seated at the right hand of God. His household is seated with Him.

We are about ”The Father’s business” or “kingdom”. We are His household of faith. We bear His name. We are His offspring. Jesus Christ is, “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” (Isaiah 9:6–7, NKJV)

We are the household of faith. We are the household of Christ Jesus.  All who believe and bear the fruits of His kingdom are His nation and family. There is no more wall of partition between Jews and Non-Jews. We are one in Christ. All who believe are of His house. The zeal of The LORD is performing it.
