Signs of a New and Better Covenant - Part Nine

“Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. “Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself” (Daniel 9:24-25, NKJV)

Jesus, Messiah the Prince, was revealed 483 years after the decree went forth. “When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”” (Matthew 3:16–17, NKJV)

This is when Jesus was Anointed by Holy Spirit to fulfill His purpose on the earth. The WORD had His purpose from before the foundation. He had receive the command. He believed and yielded to the command. He was living obediently on earth for 30 years. Then God anointed Him for His ministry. (Don’t be anxious to start the ministry for which you have a purpose and calling. Live your life obediently in the earth until you receive the anointing for your purpose and calling. The Anointing comes in God’s timing. Humble yourself before God and in due season, He will exalt you.)

“Messiah will be cut off, but not for Himself.” After the 69th “week” but before the end of the 70th “week”, Jesus, without sin, became the sin of the world on the cross and was cut off for all who would believe and confess that He is the Son of God.
