Death in Adam, Life in Christ - Part Two
If you have not come out from under the ancestry of Adam and entered the ancestry of Christ, you are still allowing a defeated dictator to run your life. Adam gave sin and death reign over all humanity. It is easy to see it operating in the world. But Christ gave us a way out from under sin and death. You can reign in life over sin and death through Him.
Through The Law of Moses, God was able to work in the lineage of Abraham at an unprecedented level to ensure the lineage of Christ Jesus over a fourteen hundred year period that saw Israel as a very unfaithful covenant partner. This unfaithfulness of a nation as a whole demonstrated the need for all for a true savior and a better covenant. The Law became known as the ministration of death because the penalty for non-compliance required the death of a sacrifice. Without faith and a substitutionary sacrifice, death came looking for the people instead. Meanwhile, the rest of the world was still living under the law of sin and death. Death reigned over them. The only thing that gave the world hope was God’s faithfulness to the covenant of Abraham.
“… For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)… (Read Romans 5:12–19, NKJV)
“For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
But what does it (faith) say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” … So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:5–17, NKJV)
“Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 John 5:1–5, NKJV)
These passages and others teach us that righteousness is the result of believing - faith in Jesus Christ. But one passage makes the distinction that salvation comes through confession. Believing puts us in right standing with God and His promises. After believing, what we say has a direct correlation to what we are manifesting. Salvation is not righteousness. Salvation is deliverance, healing, provision, forgiveness, and peace (shalom - wholeness in all things). Believing receives the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Confession manifests salvation.
Faith puts you in the family. Confession accesses the inheritance.

Obedience to God’s Word honors your Heavenly Father, manifests the love of God to God’s family, and shows the world that you belong to the loving family of God.
Being led by The Spirit manifests the love of God in the earth, puts you in the right place at the right time, and allows you to find pockets of your inheritance that would not otherwise be revealed to you.
