Seeking Jesus First July 3, 2025

When God speaks to us or shows us signs, it is because He wants us to seek Him. When seeking Him, we are easily swayed into looking for Him in the same manner as we have already seen him. When He is speaking to us, it is likely that he is revealing something to us about Him or about ourselves that we have been unable or unwilling to see.
I was seeing the numbers 2:22 quite a lot for a couple of years and I let this occurrence help me make a decision to which I was inclined to do. There are several verses which occur in the Bible under the 2:22 address. I chose the ones that I liked and ignored the ones that I didn’t like. (There is more to this than just my preference. I felt God’s presence as well.)
As I seek God more deeply, I begin to find other verses that speak to me as well.
“He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him.” (Daniel 2:22, NKJV) This passage seems to call me out of my comfort zone and into a more intimate relationship with God. It tells me not to lean on my own understanding, trusting Him to enlighten me in the areas that I feel have been hidden from me.
“And he said: “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;” (2 Samuel 22:2, NKJV) “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” (2 Timothy 2:22, NKJV) “And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in all the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.” (2 Kings 22:2, NKJV) “Speak to Aaron and his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they do not profane My holy name by what they dedicate to Me: I am the Lord.” (Leviticus 22:2, NKJV)
While I am seeking Him with my whole heart, I hold fast to Him in righteousness, faithfulness and love. I continue doing what is right in His sight, keeping His word in my heart and on my lips.
We will make it through the uncertainties of life if we trust and obey. We will find Him if we seek Him with a pure heart - even if we find ourselves groping in the darkness at times.
