“I Have Manifested Your Name”

Please Read John 17:6–12 (NKJV)

Reflection

Jesus prayed to the Father:

“I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world… Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me… While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name.”

Everything Jesus did was a manifestation of the Father. He did not merely teach about God — He made the Father visible. He was “God with us.” Through His words, works, and obedience, He revealed the Father’s heart and character.

Now, as He prepares to leave the world, He prays for those who remain. He asks the Father to keep them in His name. The same Name Jesus manifested is the Name in which His disciples are to be kept.

Through the Holy Spirit, this becomes even deeper for us. God is no longer only with us — He dwells in us. We are in Christ, and Christ is in us. As Paul wrote, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). The sons of God are those led by the Spirit of God.

Jesus manifested the Name.

He kept His disciples in the Name.

Now, by the Spirit, we are called to live from that same reality — kept in the Name, with Christ living in us.

Application

Today, receive Jesus’ prayer as your own. Ask the Father to keep you in His Name.

Renew your mind with this truth: You are in Christ, and Christ is in you. Let the Holy Spirit keep that reality clear in your heart. Choose to live today as one who carries the manifested Name of the Father — not in your own strength, but because Christ lives in you.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You that Jesus manifested Your name and made You known. Thank You that He prayed for us to be kept in Your name. Holy Spirit, keep this truth alive in my heart: I am in Christ, and Christ is in me. Keep me in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus. Help me to live today as one who carries the Name that Jesus manifested. In His name, giving thanks for the living Word of the Lord. Amen.
