Seeking Jesus First June 12, 2025

John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

1 Peter 1:22-25 “Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

The very word that was placed into Mary and became flesh has been sown into our hearts through the gospel which was preached to us. This incorruptible seed has the same potential to transform our lives. As we studied yesterday that those who believe are given the right to become sons of God, even so, the incorruptible seed of The Word of God, sown into our hearts, can produce sons of God.

Matthew 3:9 “and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.”

How would God raise up children from stones? With His Word and His Spirit (breath).

God’s Word and Spirit in us are given for that very purpose, to raise up sons, not just sons of Abraham, but sons of God. We have the right to become sons of God, that Christ Jesus might become “the firstborn among many brethren.”
