Seeking Jesus First June 5, 2025

1. It is not “religious legalism” to be faithful to do what is right and keep doing what is right.
2. Regular fasting, daily Bible reading, confessing the word, prayer, thanksgiving, praise and worship could be “religious observances” for some. However, as we live by faith, these things are just right to keep doing as we grow in our relationship with God.
3. To him who knows to do good and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin. Whatever is not of faith is sin. It is not about what you are doing. It is about doing what you are doing in faith, hope and love.
5. That being said, our relationship with God has nothing to do with sin. It has everything to do with faith, hope and love.
6. Sin is a byproduct of believing something about our self or about God that is not true. Something is not true if God said it is not true. When you put your faith in Christ, God declared you righteous. Believing you are righteous, according to God‘s word empowers you to live a godly life.
7. Simply, get up, pray, read your Bible, keep God's word in your mouth, meditate on it, observe, and do it. And every day you will grow more and more. Do not expect everything to change in a day. Do not expect to never mess up. (At least, don't hold that expectation over yourself so strong that you fall into condemnation if you do mess up.)
8. Worship the Lord and encounter his presence every day without shame, without condemnation, and without worry. Just come to Our Heavenly Father and encounter Him.
