“Let” - Part Two

“LET” is also a legal word having to do with a lease property. When one is “LET” a property, the person is given charge over the property according to the lease contract. We are given charge over our part in the covenant.

We are responsible for what we allow in our house.

He who has ears to hear, LET him hear!” (Matthew 11:15, NKJV)

Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” (Hebrews 2:1, NKJV)

We are given charge over what we hear and how we attend to what we hear.

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, LET him come to Me and drink.” (John 7:37, NKJV)

We drink of Christ Jesus by attending to our relationship with Him. We listen to His words. We spend time in His presence. We begin to crave whatever it is that we drink or eat the most. I like Mexican Food, or really TexMex Food. I like to eat enchiladas, chips and salsa, rice and beans. And I liked to drink sweet iced tea with lemon, but I started cutting out the sugar for the most part and actually started to enjoy unsweet iced tea. But, every once in awhile, I have it sweet and that little bit of sugar starts a little bit of a craving for more sweet tea.

When we feast on Christ and His Words, we develop a relationship with Him that we crave every day. Just LET His loving words fill your heart.

“LET not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” (John 14:1, NKJV)

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. LET not your heart be troubled, neither LET it be afraid.” (John 14:27, NKJV)

We are given charge over our own hearts. Jesus gave and gives us peace. Peace is a fruit of the spirit. We have the ability to keep our heart from worry, doubt and unbelief. We can guard our hearts from trouble. Through faith in Christ Jesus, we drink of Him continually and, “BOOM!” Christ in us the hope of glory! Peace reigns in our hearts.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! LET your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, LET your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4:4–9, NKJV)

Here we see it again, “The peace of God”, which defies natural understanding, “guards our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Now look at this “lease contract” we have with the one whose peace guards our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Think and meditate on these things (“let these in the house”, “drink on these things”):

  • True
  • Noble
  • Pure
  • Lovely
  • Good to talk about
  • Virtuous
  • Praiseworthy
  • Just follow the example of Apostle Paul - his teachings, impartations, and everything you heard and saw him do, and the peace of God will be with you. WOW!

Paul had the peace of God during persecution, distress, imprisonment and shipwreck; and he said, “Just practice what I preach like I do and you’ll have the peace of God.”

And LET the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. LET the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:15–17, NKJV)

LET the peace of God rule your hearts and LET the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Drink of Christ Jesus and His Spirit (be continually filled) and stay close in your walk with Him. We each have the management responsibility of our own house - heart and mind. But we have lots of help if we want it.
