God could come at any time to anyone and make additional promises. It might be considered “unnecessary” because all of the promises are in Christ, “yes”, and in us, “amen” to the glory of the Father. Through Christ Jesus, He has already promised to do anything we ask. However, In our intimate experiential covenant relationship as Father and son, He personalizes His promises to us. He makes them again to us individually in ways that speaks to our hearts and includes the desires of our hearts and our individual kingdom purpose. These are not really new promises and yet they are new to us as individuals. This “personalized promise” is an application of an existing promise, but it is specific to our need, desire, kingdom purpose or vision.
