What happens to sin when the Lord forgives you?

As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12, NKJV)

“Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;” (Isaiah 1:16–19, NKJV)

Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.” (Micah 7:18–19, NKJV)

  1. GOD removes your sin from you. It is no longer connected to you in any way. It can no longer be associated with you. If you looked for it, you couldn’t find it.
  2. When we repent, we do not just apologize. When we repent, we act differently because we think differently. When we receive the mind of Christ, we stop thinking of just ourselves. We cease from evil and see justice, interceding for others who have been hurt or oppressed. With this kind of repentance in play, our sinful past no longer marks us. Instead, we are marked by purity. As willing and obedient sons of God, we experience the God’s breakthrough blessing on our lives.
  3. It is God’s nature to forgive and to pardon us when we seek Him with our whole heart. He forgets His anger quickly because He delights in mercy. God overcomes our iniquities with His compassion and He buries our sins in the deepest part of the ocean.

Come quickly to The LORD Jesus and confess your sins. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9, NKJV) Turn your back on shame and condemnation and receive the love of God instead.
