Seeking Jesus First Nov. 26, 2025
One aspect of the ever- increasing kingdom of God is how it grows in our own lives.
“Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:16–18, NKJV)
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”” (Romans 1:16–17, NKJV)
These verses are showing us similar things about our walk with God. 1 Cor. 3 tells us that, by beholding Jesus without the veil of the law of Moses, we go through a metamorphosis that takes us by degree of glory to the fulness of the glory of Christ Jesus. Rom. 1 tells us that the righteousness of God is revealed to us by degree as we draw nearer to God by faith.
The kingdom of God is advancing in us as we respond with focus and faith. "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you..." James 4:8
Convinced?
Well, here is a Bonus. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1–2, NKJV)
Here is another Bonus from The Passion Translation. “Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship. Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.” (Romans 12:1–2, TPT)
