Seeking Jesus First - Oct. 13, 2022
When the storm called Ian was headed this way and we were rebuking it and telling it, “Peace, Be still.”, I was presented with Isa. 45:7 “I am the light and I create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.” When I read this, I began to pray and ask Holy Spirit about it. Then I was reminded that many Hebrew words have a double meaning. The vowels and marks in the Hebrew language were added between 600 A.D. and 1000 A.D.. Because it had no vowels, many words were spelled the same, and many words carried both the positive and negative definition of the word. “Possess” is also means “dispossess”. “Sin” is also “sin offering”. And as I studied, I learned that “create” is also “cut down”. How should they be interpreted when they carry more than one meaning? We must read the context.
