Be humble, gentle, peaceful and speak evil of no one.

Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men. For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:1–7, NKJV)

In the days of social media where we are tempted to “speak our mind” without looking anyone in the eye while we are doing it, many people tend to cater to the mind of the flesh. “I’m going to give them a piece of my mind!” Be careful, the more “of our mind” we give away, the stupider we seem to be. Just give Christ your whole mind and exchange it for His mind. The mind of Christ is so much more likely to get you through to victory than the mind of the flesh. In Christ, we can be humble, gentle, peaceful and speak evil of no one.

We need to remember where God has brought us from. God saved us because He had mercy on us. We were not saved because God saw us and thought we were being good. God saved us because He is good and merciful. He found us. He picked us up out of the mess. He washed us. He gave us a new life. He abundantly filled us with His Holy Spirit.
