Seeking Jesus First Oct. 28, 2025

What have we fixed our eyes upon? Are our eyes still floating between two opposing things?

“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:22–24, NKJV)

King James Version says it this way, “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

“Single” brings more cohesion to the whole passage because it is about a choice between light and darkness. It is a choice between The God of Heaven and Earth or the god of money.

Isa. 50:7 “For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.” Heb. 12:2a  “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith...”. 2 Cor. 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” Jer. 29:13 “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

There is only one single entity who deserves our constant gaze. It is The LORD Jesus Christ who is the image of Our Father in Heaven. We are able to see Him because His Holy Spirit is with us. He gives His Holy Spirit to all who ask and He reveals Himself to all who seek Him with their whole heart. Have you fixed your eyes on Christ Jesus? Are you seeking Him with your whole heart? If not, let’s do it together from today forward. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and no-one comes to the Father but through Him.
