Excuses are self justifications. We use them to keep from doing the difficult task. Self justifications are born from the lie that we cannot accomplish something that we perceive to be difficult. If we cannot do something or wish to not do something, let’s be honest with ourselves and with others about it. “I don’t believe that is possible.” Or, “I really do not want to do that.” On the other hand, ’sons of God are led by the Spirit of God.” As mature believers, we are not making excuses, we are following Holy Spirit. No excuse or justification is needed for obeying God’s word and The Holy Spirit.

But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. (Romans 3:21–26, NKJV)

God considers us righteous and justified by our faith in Christ Jesus. We are declared to be righteous and justified because of our faith in Christ Jesus. When God declares something to be so, even if He is, “calling those things that be not as though they were”, God is right. We are even sanctified by the Word of God which is truth (John 17:17).

In Christ Jesus, we are:

  • Justified, Sanctified and Glorified
  • Eternally Alive to God
  • Free of Condemnation
  • One with God and with God’s Love
  • Wise, Righteous and Redeemed
  • Free and Blessed
  • A New Creation, Begotten of God by His Spirit
  • Full of God’s Purpose
  • Called, Anointed and Complete
  • Full of Faith, Hope and Love
  • Heirs of God’s Grace and Salvation
  • Forgiven and Full of Life
  • Heirs of All of the Promises of God
  • Firmly Rooted and Built Up
  • Strong

The LORD is strong in us so we can do all things through Him and His strength.
