How does the kingdom of God work?
God decrees and everything responds to His decree. Some things get shaken while other things remain. He declares the end from the beginning and He calls those things that be not as though they were. In doing this, God teaches us how to be like Him an d to imitate Him as dear children.
“Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:5–8, NKJV)
No matter your belief on eschatology and when these things actually take place, we all agree that, for God, they are complete. We, having received the mind of Christ, take His perspective of completeness. This perspective allows us to receive the God kind of faith mentioned in Mark 11:23 and speak of these things like He does.
We declare in full assurance of faith and believing that, “It is done.” Our Father in heaven, His Son Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. He gives of the fountain of the water of life freely to all who thirst. Those who overcome inherit all things. God is our God and those who overcome are His mature offspring.
What must we overcome? The system and nature of the “world”. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” (1 John 5:4, NKJV)
We overcome that which is not the culture of God’s kingdom and that which is not of God’s divine nature. The river of life is already flowing to all who thirst. “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (2 Peter 1:2–4, NKJV)
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19, NKJV)
