Seeking Jesus First Sep. 17, 2025
The things, on which the world places no value, are the very things that God uses to pull down what the world idolizes.
“For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”” (1 Corinthians 1:22–31, NKJV)
The very word of God in our mouths and in our hearts so that we faithfully carry out His words is what changes us.
We preach Christ crucified for the sins of the world. We preach Christ Jesus raised from the dead and ascended to The Father. We preach that His death is our death and His resurrection is our resurrection.
We preach that His place as The Son of God is our place as sons of God. We preach that His Holy Spirit has come to abide with us and in us. We preach that we are joined to The LORD and have become one spirit with Him.
We preach that His victory is our victory and His word is our word. We preach that His authority and power is our authority and power.
We preach that true humility is accepting what God says over what we “feel”. We preach that all of the praise and glory belongs to God. We preach that we are in The LORD Jesus Christ and He has been made to us, the wisdom of God, and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption.
We preach that we are new creatures in Christ Jesus. Sins are forgiven because the sinful man has been crucified with Christ. We preach that we are a new creation, fashioned according to God in true righteousness and holiness.
We preach that love is the foundation of our faith. Our love has been given to us by God through the Holy Spirit and we can love in the same manner as God.
We preach that we have the God-kind of faith and we can imitate God as dearly beloved children of God. We preach The Word of God. And we are not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation.
