If you can believe? Part Two

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:23-24

“All things are possible to him who believes.” Having the God-kind of faith brings all things into the realm of possibility. “Be it unto you according to your faith.” It becomes possible to the one who believes.

Do you believe this passage? Do you believe that The LORD Jesus meant that all things would become possible to you, if only you believe?

When the daughter of the ruler of the synagogue died, He came to Jesus. As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”” (Mark 5:36, NKJV) Then Jesus raised the twelve year old girl from her death bed.

“Do not fear, only believe.” Can you set aside your fear and trust God? His perfect love casts out all fear. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. The love of God floods our hearts by The Holy Spirit which is given to us.

The boy’s father in Mark 9:24 said, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”  Help means, “to come to the aid of”. He could have been saying, “I believe, but add your faith to mine so that I am assured that it will be enough.” The man knew that Jesus had enough faith, authority and power to heal his son. He believed that Jesus could heal his son. He wasn’t ready to heal his own son. So he asked Jesus to add His faith to the man’s own newly formed and weak faith.

Now, remember that Jesus taught His disciples that faith as a grain of mustard seed could move a mountain. Jesus went from teaching the boy’s father about faith to quickly healing the boy when He saw that they were attracting attention. Jesus was still doing things “privately” because His time was not yet fulfilled.

That being understood, Jesus was teaching people that their faith was enough to do the impossible. We read later in Scripture (Rom. 12:3, Eph. 2:8) that faith is a gift from God. We read in Mark 11:22-24 that it is the God-kind of faith. And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly].” (Mark 11:22, AMP)

If you can believe, all things become possible to the one who constantly believes. The righteous live and walk according to faith.
