“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,” (Ephesians 1:3, NKJV)
The Blessing of God is like the grace of God, it is freely given to all who believe and it is received by faith. The blessing of God is spiritual so it is not purchased through tithes and offerings or good works. How can we work or pay for what was freely given in Christ Jesus? However, the spiritual blessing of God is activated by our faith inspired words and actions. The spiritual blessing manifests in what we say and do.
Faith works by love and causes us to hope for the outcomes promised by God's word. "These three remain, faith, hope and love and the greatest of these is love." Love is the foundation of our faith and the source of our hope in God. He loved us and gave Himself for us. Now, through faith in Christ Jesus, we receive His divine nature. We become givers like our Heavenly Father and The Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, “Give and it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.” So God’s blessing works on the tithes and offerings which are sown in faith and motivated by love. Why would a farmer plant without expecting a harvest? When God “sowed” His son into the earth, He expected a harvest of sons and daughters. Start expecting the blessing to flow into all that you say and do. This will cause you to want to plant only good seed in word and deed.
It is important to note that the blessing of God on the giver causes the things that he does to prosper. "Whatever you put your hand to do will prosper." So develop your intimacy with God through Holy Spirit and develop the maturity of your spirit through fellowship with the word of God. Then follow the leading of your spirit in giving.
"Do everything that you do as unto The Lord and not unto men." This way, you will not get angry if a preacher makes a mistake. You didn't do your giving simply to support the man. You gave as unto The LORD. People make mistakes, but God looks on your heart and honors your righteous works.
