Why do we acknowledge that the tithe was a part of The Law and omit that it pre-existed The Law? Do we want to keep our money to ourselves? Do we think that God does not want New Covenant believers to be givers and to support their home church fellowship with a percentage of their increase? What are we doing when we tithe?
- Honoring God with our increase.
- “Remembering” that God is the source of our blessing and favor.
- Trusting God with our income.
- Giving of our first-fruits because God is first in our lives.
- Teaching our family to trust God to supply all our needs.
- Planting a seed that will produce fruit in our lives.
- Honoring those in our lives who are teaching and discipling us.
- Blessing our church to continue to do what it is called to do.
- Aligning ourselves with what God is doing in the earth.
- Participating in the anointing and ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.
- What do you think?
The Pre-Law examples of tithing mentioned in yesterday’s word clearly show us that tithing is a response to God’s increase in our lives.
