‘Dabar’, a Hebrew word translate “word” and “speech” is also translated “matter” and “thing” as we have discussed. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth with his word. We are made in the image and likeness of God. The new covenant says that we are made after His similitude. This is a major reason why God admonishes us to speak life and good and blessing.
The words we speak frame our world around us.
We are made in the image and the likeness of God.
We are transformed by the renewing of our minds.
When the words in our minds no longer argue with God and His Word, our mind is renewed.
We have the mind of Christ means we think the thoughts of God.
Thoughts are expressed in words.
You can give life to your future or you can destroy your future with words.
A picture is worth a thousand words. So if you keep the right mental picture of who God made you to be, it will impact the way you speak.
Can you say a word that you don’t know?
What does your mind do with pictures and words it doesn’t understand?
What does your heart do with things that make no sense?
If someone speaks to you in a language you do not understand, will you be able to communicate with them? You have to be able to understand the words that they speak.
Will you be able to receive what God has for you if you do not understand what He wants for you? You will not receive it because you will have no faith to receive it.
We get to hear His words and make them our own. Memorize, Internalize and Personalize what God’s word speaks over His sons and daughters.
