SJF - Daily Worship, Word and Spirit - Dec. 19, 2023

It is important to understand that we sit, walk, stand and live by faith. We overcome the challenges we face in the world through our faith.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. … Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore…” (Ephesians 6:10–14, NKJV)

As faith is how we sit in the heavenly places in Christ, it is how we walk in righteousness, it is how we stand firm and immoveable against the devil, and it is how we live and breathe and have our being in Christ, even so, we endeavor to increase our faith and thereby increase our dependence on God’s word and promises. This is how we grow. It is by faith that we speak the loving truth. It is through faith that we submit our language to the kingship and lordship of Christ. It is by faith that we grow up into the head, even Christ, in all things. We learn to submit our language to Christ by learning His language. His language is the language of faith, hope and love. We grow through knowing Him (through experience), and we grow through learning His ways of speaking the truth in love.
