SJF - Daily Worship, Word and Spirit - Dec. 21, 2023
Heaven has a language. If the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace…, then the language of heaven is full of love, joy and peace. If these three remain, faith hope and love, then the language of heaven is faith, hope and love. If the gift of heaven is grace, then it is no surprise that our words minister grace to those who hear them. Our words do not condemn. Our words liberate. Our words do not curse. Our words bless. We do not align our words with the plans and schemes of the devil. We align our words with the plans and purposes of heaven. When we submit our lives to Christ Jesus, King of kings and Lord of lords, we yield our “members” to Him. The fruit of our lips, our words, are under our direct control. I can’t control what anyone else says or does, but I can, by the spirit, control my tongue. “If you don’t have anything good to say…”, you are not listening to the Holy Spirit. It starts with the giving of thanks. It continues with the ministry of grace. Ultimately, we speak the truth in love and grow up into the head, even Christ.
“A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:20–21, NKJV)
