Is it possible to glorify God in your body? Holy Spirit in us makes it possible.

“For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:20, NKJV)

Apostle Paul lived in a time when slavery was normal. He uses the concept to tell believers that Christ Jesus bought them out of slavery and brought them into adoption. We have been transferred out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God’s dear son. We have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Abba, Father”. God is our Father.

As sons, bought out of slavery, we live our lives as part of The Family of God. As sons, who are led by God’s Holy Spirit, we imitate God as His dear children. In other words, we imitate God as Christ. We glorify God in our bodies just like Jesus did. We live our lives in faith, hope and love. We walk as children of light. We glorify God in our words and in our deeds. We can do it because Holy Spirit dwells in us. It is our Christ identity. Remember, you can love because you are loved.
