SJF - Daily Worship, Spirit and Word - Feb. 27, 2024

The word says that “God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” And just a few verses later, it says…

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7, NKJV)

Apostle John speaks about our relation to each other and to God through light. When we acknowledge and walk in the light of God, we are fellowshipping with Him and with each other. See this as being led by and walking in the Spirit. We are filled with the Spirit and we are filled with light. We have at least these three aspects that show us what God is like. God is life. God is light. God is love. These three can correlate to faith, hope and love.  Faith in Christ Jesus gives us eternal life. Hope is a light to the future. And the greatest of these, love, is love.

To walk in the light is to walk by faith, hope and love. Try separating these things from each other. Better yet, don’t try. Just live in the light of God and be filled with faith, hope and love.
