Shall we continue in unbelief? Shall we continue to live our lives without freely receiving and freely giving the love of God? Shall we continue to follow after the death producing works of the flesh just because God has shown us grace through Christ Jesus? Of course not.

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:1–4, NKJV)

How shall we who have been set free from the law of sin and death continue to operate in it as if we were still bound to it? Apostle Peter states that if we do continue it, we have forgotten that we have been cleansed.

We are new creatures. We have been given liberty. We are free from the law of sin and death. When we received Christ, were were baptized into His death. This is what water baptism represents - death, burial and resurrection in Christ Jesus. We reckon ourselves to be dead to sin and alive to God. We “should” now walk in newness of life. We are on the resurrection side of the cross. We have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness. We can walk free because we are free.
