Does God fight our battles for us?

Does God fight our battles with us?

Has God already fought our battles on our behalf?

I believe The Bible makes it clear that Christ Jesus has already fought the ultimate battle and won and that His victory is our victory.

Colossians 2:15 (NKJV): Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Matthew 28:18 (NKJV): And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

What we are currently facing in life, whatever ”battle” in life, Christ has already won the victory in that area. When we yoke with the one who has won, we enter into His victory. This is done by faith in Him and all that He has said and done.

So our fight is the good fight of faith which applies His victory to our situations. Let's say that again. We apply His victory to our circumstances by faith in what Christ Jesus has said and done. We are not trying to get God to come to our rescue. He already came to our rescue. We operate as sons and daughters in His authority through His Word. We submit to Him, so we walk in His authority and power.

Should we think it plausible that we should disregard His word and be able to use that word to transform our circumstance? It makes more spiritual sense that when we honor His word, His words carry authority and power in our mouths.

Should we think that God is going to work out our circumstance without our participation and faith? It makes more spiritual sense that there comes a time in our spiritual walk when God will wait on us to apply His word before "allowing" us to see breakthrough. This is what it means to be "sons of God" who are "led by the Spirit of God".

Let’s fight the good fight of faith today as we apply The Father's Words and The Holy Spirit's leading to the way we speak and live.
