When does someone have experiential knowledge of an idea? When does a concept become real to an individual?

There are two kinds of tests. The first checks for memorization of the principles. The second requires the application of the principles in real life. One of the largest complaints about Algebra is the lack of real world testing of these mathematical principles. “I’m never going to use this in real life!”

Experiential knowledge is the practical application of the concepts that we learn. A builder uses fractions and angles in everyday life. We gain experiential knowledge when we start applying principles to solve problems in our life. Is it surprising to us that God desires us to have experiential knowledge of Him, His Spirit and His Word? He wants to encounter us in every day life. He wants to yoke with us in all that we do. God would like for us to use His strength and not just our own. God would like for us to use His wisdom and knowledge and not just the worldly wisdom and knowledge.

God desires relationship based upon faith, hope and love. This can only happen as we walk with Him. “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20, NKJV)

Do a word search in the Bible about knowing God. Use several phrases like, “That I may know”, or “That we may know”.
