We are one body of Christ. We are one spirit with The LORD. We are one family of God.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.” (Psalm 133:1–3, NKJV)

The word unity shows up only a “trinity” of times in Scripture. Once in Psalm 133 and twice in Ephesians 4. However, the word “one” is used many times to describe the unity of God with God, the unity of The Father with the son Christ Jesus, the unity of The Father with The Holy Spirit, the unity of Christ Jesus with us, etc..

We can use God as our example when we want to understand the power of unity. When a group of people are unified around a single purpose, they become very powerful. The results include an increase in human and capital resources, a diverse perception when looking at and overcoming obstacles, multiplied efforts (“two are better than one” principle), and many others. Just look at the benefits in Psalm 133. It is good and pleasant - peace reigns. It is like the anointing of God on a priest. It receives the Lord’s command of blessing.

Just consider for a minute. If unity receives the Lord’s command of blessing. What does disunity do?
