Christ Jesus is the promised substitutional sacrifice in the Abrahamic covenant. “And Abraham saith, ‘God doth provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt-offering…”. Through Christ Jesus, the blessing of Abraham has come upon all who believe in HIM. “That the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus…”. Gal. 3:14

The significance of the Abrahamic Covenant passing onto all who believe is “earthly inheritance”. “…That we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Gal.3:14. Abraham’s blessing was an earthly blessing. This means that it was enacted during Abraham’s lifetime here on earth and it passed on to all of his descendants who were circumcised. The Abrahamic blessing affects a person’s life as long as they live upon the earth. It just stands to reason that they would not need a blessing in heaven that would protect, provide and avenge them.

“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”” (Genesis 12:2–3, NKJV)

The body of Christ is a great nation. The name of Jesus Christ is a great name. Christ Jesus is a blessing. God blesses those who bless Christ Jesus and curses those who curse Him. In Christ Jesus, all of the families of the earth are blessed. Christ Jesus received the blessing and all who are in Him are partakers of that blessing here on earth.
