Are you anointed by God? “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” (1 John 2:20, NKJV)
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” (John 16:13, NKJV)
God has made each of us a prophet for our own lives. As believers in Jesus and Christ followers, we have The Spirit of God who knows all and who guides us into all truth. A prophet hears God and speaks what he hears from God. A prophet has a responsibility to hear God rightly and to say exactly what he hears. If we are faithful with God’s word to ourselves, we can be trusted to prophesy to others.
Take a look at Balaam in Numbers 22. He was allowing himself to be persuaded to curse what God had blessed. The Angel of The LORD came to stop him and would have killed him, but Balaam’s donkey intervened and the angel revealed himself to Balaam. Balaam repented. “Then the Angel of the Lord said to Balaam, “Go with the men, but only the word that I speak to you, that you shall speak.” So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.” (Numbers 22:22–35, NKJV)
We should not curse what God has blessed. We should only speak about ourselves and our spiritual brethren what God has said. We are authorized by God to speak His word. We are empowered by Holy Spirit to expect the blessing of God’s word to us to come to pass. “But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):” (Romans 10:8, NKJV)
