Part Two: Be steadfast

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:57–58, NKJV)

Yesterday, we read that we resist our adversary the devil, by being steadfast in faith; and that after we suffer a while, God will perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle us. 1 Peter 5.

Today, we give thanks to God for giving us the victory through our LORD Jesus Christ. So be steadfast, immoveable, always abounding in the work of The LORD because our labor is not in vain.

Grace is God’s part. He has done it. He has given grace and victory to us our LORD Jesus Christ. He does not withhold grace or mercy. He freely gives them to those who humble themselves and come to God as He requires. He requires that we come boldly (with faith) and confidently (without fear) into His glorious presence - right up to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and grace. God says, “Here it is, trust me, and come and get it. Take it. It’s yours because of your faith in My Son, Christ Jesus.”

Faith and good works are our part because grace has empowered us. Have you received Holy Spirit? Then you have received grace. Having received grace, you are empowered to be steadfast, immoveable and always abounding in the good works of The LORD. This is what victory looks like! Steadfastness! Not being shaken. Not being “wishy-washy”. Not wavering. But, through the fruit of the spirit, exhibiting love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, goodness and self control. This is victory. The victory is given to us by God through our LordRD Jesus Christ. It is not vanity to do what is right simply because you can. It is GRACE that you CAN do what is right.

Preachers, stop telling believers that they can not do anything without God. Tell them that they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them. It is a change of perspective. Instead of looking at things “pre-cross”, we are looking at things “post-resurrection.” Christ is in us. We are the Body of Christ. We seated with Christ in the heavenliness. We have been given the victory. Let’s be steadfast and use it and walk in it. We are overcomes and more than conquerors. We are dead to sin and alive unto God.
