The Holy Spirit: His Person and Work

A Scriptural Testimony (NKJV Edition) Kingdom Life Church | Pastor Clay Runnels

IntroductionThe Holy Spirit is the promised Helper, sent by the Father in Jesus' name. He dwells in us, leads us into truth, empowers us for Kingdom living, and always glorifies Christ. This booklet gathers key testimonies from Scripture of what the Holy Spirit does—inviting us to know Him intimately, yield to His guidance, and walk in the fullness of New Covenant life.

1. The Spirit Invites and Calls

  • Revelation 22:17 (NKJV) — And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. The Spirit calls all who thirst to the free gift of life in Christ.

2. The Spirit Transports and Reveals in Visions

  • Revelation 21:10; 17:3 (NKJV) — And he carried me away in the Spirit...
  • Revelation 4:2 (NKJV) — Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne...
  • Revelation 1:10 (NKJV) — I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day...
  • Acts 7:55-56 (NKJV) — But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven... The Spirit carries believers into heavenly realms, unveiling visions of God, His throne, and eternal realities.

3. The Spirit Speaks and Guides

  • Revelation 14:13; 3:22 (NKJV) — “Yes,” says the Spirit... He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says...
  • Hebrews 3:7-8 (NKJV) — Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts...”
  • John 16:13-15 (NKJV) — However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth... He will glorify Me...
  • Acts 1:16; 10:19; 11:12; 13:2; 20:23; 21:11; 28:25-27 (NKJV) — The Spirit speaks warnings, directions, future events, and prophetic words through prophets and Scripture. The Spirit speaks clearly—to churches, individuals, and leaders—guiding into truth and disclosing the Father's will.

4. The Spirit Empowers Prayer, Intercession, and Strength

  • Jude 20; Ephesians 6:17-18 (NKJV) — But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit... praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit...
  • Romans 8:26-27 (NKJV) — Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses... He makes intercession... according to the will of God.
  • Ephesians 3:16 (NKJV) — That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.
  • 2 Timothy 1:14 (NKJV) — That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. The Spirit prays through us, strengthens our faith, guards the deposit of truth, and empowers our inner life.

5. The Spirit Testifies to Jesus and the New Covenant

  • 1 John 5:6-8; 4:2,13; 3:24 (NKJV) — And it is the Spirit who bears witness... every spirit that confesses... we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit...

6. The Spirit Sanctifies, Renews, and Produces Fruit

  • 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Thessalonians 2:13 (NKJV) — Elect according to... sanctification of the Spirit... sanctification by the Spirit...
  • Titus 3:5-6 (NKJV) — Not by works... but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly...
  • Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) — But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace...

Help us yield to You daily, walk in Your fruit and gifts, and live as sons who cry, “Abba, Father!” In Jesus’ name, Amen.
