AKA “Pride vs. Humility: The Pathway to More Grace”

Day 3 -The Cost of Pride & God’s Resistance

Scripture: Proverbs 13:10 and James 4:6 (NKJV) “By pride comes nothing but strife… God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

Devotion:Pride never builds—it only tears down. It produces strife in marriages, churches, and ministries. Even more sobering, God Himself resists the proud. When we walk in pride, we push against the very grace we desperately need.

Yet the moment we turn, grace flows. Humility is the doorway to God’s help, especially when we feel weary or discouraged.

Kingdom Application:Examine recent conflicts or areas of struggle. Where has pride fueled division or exhaustion? Choose the path of the “well-advised”—humbly seek counsel and submit the situation to God. Watch strife lose its power.

Prayer:Lord, forgive me for any pride that has caused strife. I humble myself before You. Remove resistance and release Your grace into every difficult place. Lift every burden I’ve carried in my own strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Kingdom Confession:“Pride has no place in me. I walk in humility and receive more grace. God is for me.”
