Day 5: Repentance, Mourning & Heart Purification

Scripture:

James 4:8-9 (NKJV) “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands… purify your hearts… Lament and mourn and weep!”

Devotion:

Godly sorrow over sin is beautiful in the Kingdom. It is not shame—it is the pathway to deep cleansing. When we mourn over pride and double-mindedness, the Holy Spirit comforts and restores us. True repentance always leads to joy.

Kingdom Application:

Set aside quiet time today to lament any pride the Lord has shown you. Let tears flow if they come. Then receive His cleansing. This is how weary hearts are renewed.

Father, I mourn over every proud thought and attitude. Cleanse my hands and purify my heart. Turn my mourning into fresh joy. Draw near to me as I draw near to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.Kingdom Confession:“My heart is pure before God. I am cleansed and renewed. Joy is returning.”
