How can we grow in our faith towards GOD?
There was a song when I was little that went like this, “Read your Bible and pray every day and you’ll grow, grow, grow.” The very thing that a young believer should do to grow is the very thing that an old believer should do to grow.
If you haven’t read it recently, read the book of The Gospel of John. Read it slowly. When you read something that sticks out to you, stop and meditate on that part. Ask Holy Spirit to teach you about it. Wait in quietness and stillness for a minute. Take the posture that you asked a question and that you are waiting for a response from someone who speaks quietly. When you get an impression in your soul regarding your question, write it down. In this way, you can have a conversation with The One that Christ Jesus called, Helper, Comforter, Teacher and The Spirit of Truth.
(John 14:16–17, NKJV) “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
The more we do this, the more accustomed we become to listening to and hearing His voice. We will begin to notice that He speaks quite often if we are listening. It works the Samy way as becoming acquainted with a new friend’s voice. We eventually start hearing and recognizing His voice even when there is noise and distraction around us.
