What is a major hindrance to receiving the supernatural works of God?

“Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” (Matthew 13:58, NKJV)

“Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:19–20, NKJV)

God can do anything except lie or stop being Himself. However, God desires the partnership of faith to be present in order to give way to His mighty works on our behalf.

Those who believe and follow Jesus the Christ can do all things. However, it requires the partnership of faith with God, His Word and His Spirit. If we believe, we can have, be and do whatever God has said.

If we have not received, we may not have complete some requirement to receive. What are the requirements to receiving from God? It depends on what we desire to receive. Because it is a partnership of faith, God is involved, Christ is involved, Holy Spirit is involved and God’s Word is involved.

Have we repented to The Father? Have we believed in Christ Jesus? Have we yielded to Holy Spirit? Do we have a word from God? Have we ordered our conversation, our beliefs, words and deeds, to align with the righteousness and grace? Are we walking and speaking by faith in what God has said?

We overcome unbelief through intimacy with God, praying in the spirit, and staying in the word. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
