Part One - What do you know about the will of God?
What do you know about faith?
What do the will of God and faith have to do with each other?
Faith begins where the will of God is known.
The will of God is no longer a mystery. Jesus changed everything. Jesus ended the age of the mystery of God’s will. Jesus made the will of God plain for all understand. God did not want a bunch of robots or a bunch of scared people running around in bondage and not knowing Him or His will or His love for them. God reveled His will for humanity through His own son. Jesus is the revealed will of God for humanity. Jesus is the end of the mystery. Jesus is the mystery revealed to all.
“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:20–21, NKJV)
God wants us to be complete in every good work to do His will so He can fulfill His pleasure in us.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” (Ephesians 1:3–6, NKJV)
- It is the will of God to take us out of the category of orphans and put us in the category of Christ Jesus as sons of God.
- It is the will of God that He make us accepted in His beloved family.
- It is His will and it makes Him glad.
- It is the will of God for us to receive His love.
- It is the will of God for us to love one another.
“having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,” (Ephesians 1:9–11, NKJV)
The will of God is no longer a mystery.
- It is the will of God to give all that is in Christ, in heaven and on earth, to us as an inheritance.
This was the mystery of His will that was destiny for all who believe.
Paul is saying that it has always been God’s will and plan to share all of Christ’s inheritance with us.
Surely this can’t be true. It is true, and don’t call me Shirley.
Did Jesus say anything about sharing everything that God had given Him with us?
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” (John 16:12–15, NKJV)
Everything belongs to Jesus because The Father gives Him everything as an inheritance and as a reward. Holy Spirit discloses to us everything that belongs to Jesus, which is everything. We have access through Holy Spirit to all wisdom and spiritual understanding. It is our inheritance of which Holy Spirit is the earnest or down payment or proof of purchase and ownership.
When The Father gave us His Spirit through our faith in Christ Jesus, we received proof of ownership of the inheritance of Christ Jesus. Why don’t we just believe it and accept it?
God is not withholding anything from us. He has given us every spiritual blessing in the spirit through Christ Jesus. We are heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ Jesus. I receive His righteousness today. I receive all of His promises today. I receive justification and sanctification through faith in Jesus today. I receive His Spirit today. I receive His Word today. I receive His grace, His unmerited favor, today. I didn’t deserve it until He placed me into Christ Jesus, then I became as worthy as Christ is. The inheritance of Christ belongs to me and to you. Let’s share it with as many people as possible today. It is the will of God for us to receive it and to share it.
Now that you know the will of God about this, you can add your faith to His word and receive it all.
